Quick rundown on some of my favourite scenes in some of the mindless TV I watch -
Grey's Anatomy - hmmm, the show's not doing it for me this season. Nothing really memorable about this episode - well except that Izzie was back, and no, that's not a good thing. Oh yes, Hunt's "gift" to Cristina was interesting.
They cancelled The Doll House. Just when it was getting interesting.
If there is one more Law and Order episode based on drugs and mafia killings - ugh. Nothing really interesting in the detective work or the law there. And they're still going on with their sexist streak. The innuendoes regarding a stupid affair that took place years ago. Looks like Connie's not going to be with us long. Maybe they can replace her with another male and complete their white boys' club.
Justin accepting his homecoming queen crown had me tearing up. And him saying "I'm not gay." I wonder how long it'll be before someone coming out to his/herself is not so tormenting that they have to lie about who they are, even to themselves and coming out stories aren't the after-school special storylines that "Just say no" was in the 80s.
Kalinda Sharma on The Good Wife really kicks ass. I want to be her when I grow up.
The Big Bang Theory - Howard's and Raj's fight in the comic book store was hilarious. Those two are overshadowed by Sheldon, who (rightfully) steals the limelight most episodes.
I never thought I'd find a character on Gossip Girl more insipid than Vanessa. Or Serena. But Olivia, played by Lizzie Maguire just took the cake. Seriously, Duff needs to take acting lessons because it's hard to believe her as anything besides Lizzie. Her stint on Law and Order was good, but only because the character was so far opposite to squeaky clean Lizzie that you overlooked the bad acting.
Didn't quite get what was going on with Cuddy and the detective on House. Is he just the manny? Manny with benefits? In a serious relationship with Cuddy?
V - I need to pay more attention when I watch this show. But so far - let's see - they need to move it along faster.
SVU was Elliott's very special episode. Eh.
Nora on Brothers and Sisters annoys me. But I liked her whole "he's completely in love with me" schpiel at the wine festival. And Rebecca - I know she's freaked out. But can she not just hang on for a couple of days tille Justin's midterm is over? It's not the end of the world, jeez. And the wine that spilled in the cellar - if that's all there was of it, I don't know how they expected to turn the company around. That didn't look like very much.
And Angie is quickly replacing Gabbie as my number 2 Desperate Housewife. Lanette's still got her spot secure as number one.
